- 1 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. flour
- 2 eggs
- peel of 1/2 lemon
- fat
- granulated or powdered sugar
Directions

1In saucepan, bring water, sugar and salt to boiling.

2Remove from heat.

3Stir in flour all at once and heat until smooth.

4Beat in eggs, one at a time, until mixture is smooth.

5Spoon into pastry bag with large star point.

6Pipe 3-inch strips onto waxed paper or floured surface.

7Add lemon peel to fat and heat to 375°. Fry a few at a time 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown.

8Drain on towel and roll in sugar.
