- 6 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
- 1/2 c. apple juice or cider
- 1/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 Tbsp. red hot cinnamon candies
Directions

1Cut apples in chunks.

2Place all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a low setting.

3Simmer 15 minutes or until tender.

4Mash or cool and puree in food processor. Stores well in glass jars in refrigerator.

5Yields approximately 4 cups.
