- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water (110~ to 115~)
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Stir yeast into warm water in a large bowl.

2Heat together the milk, shortening, 1/4 cup sugar and salt to about 110°.

3Add to yeast.

4Beat in 1 cup flour and egg.

5Beat in as much remaining flour as possible.

6Knead in remaining for about 8 to 10 minutes. Place dough in a large greased bowl.

7Cover with wet paper towel; let rise in warm place (85°) until doubled, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

8Punch dough down, then turn out onto lightly floured surface.

9Cover with towel again for 10 minutes.

10Roll piece of dough into a 15 x 7-inch pan.

11Sprinkle with mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon.

12Roll up like a jelly roll from the narrow side; pinch edges to seal.

13Place the roll in a greased 9 1/4 x 5 1/4 x 2 3/4-inch loaf pan; let rise until doubled.

14Bake in preheated 375° oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
