  • 13 cup shortening
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 12 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 12 teaspoons baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 12 cup milk
  • 6 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350F.

    In a small bowl, beat together shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla.

    In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

    Add flour mixture alternately with the milk to the shortening mixture.

    Fill greased muffin cups 1/2 to 2/3 full with batter, and bake at 350F for 20 minutes.

    Once muffins are cooked, allow to cool for 5 minutes.

    For topping, roll the tops of the muffins in the melted butter, and then in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
