  • 2 1/2 c. pecans (halves)
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

    Heat pecan halves for 15 minutes at 200°; set aside.

    Cook sugar, water, cinnamon and salt in heavy saucepan without stirring to 236°.

    Remove from heat.

    Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and pecan halves.
  5. 5
    Stir gently until nuts are well coated and mix looks glossy.
  6. 6
    Turn out on well greased cookie sheet and separate using 2 forks.
