Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • Pour over 1/2 cup boiling water. Let cool. Add:
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbs. yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water and 1 tsp. sugar.
  • Add enough flour to make a soft dough, about 3 cups.

Directions

    Let dough rise for 1/2 hour. Roll out, spread with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.

    Roll up and cut into slices. Let rise again for 1 hour. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or less. Ice.
