- 1 cake yeast
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 medium size potato
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 1/2 c. water (including potato water)
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 6 c. flour
Directions

1Mash potato; add salt, yeast, shortening, water and sugar until dissolved.

2Add to flour; knead.

3Shape into ball.

4Cover with cloth.

5Let rise double size.

6Punch down.

7Add 1/4 cup of sugar; mix and let rise again.

8Roll out dough and spread with butter, white sugar, brown sugar, nuts and cinnamon.

9Roll up; cut into 1/2-inch slices. Place in pan.

10Let rise.

11Bake in 375° oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
