Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 5 c. sifted self-rising flour
  • 1/4 c. white sugar
  • 1 yeast cake
  • 1/2 c. shortening

Directions

    Cut shortening into flour and sugar. Dissolve yeast cake in water and mix into flour mixture.

    Set in greased bowl for 1 hour. Knead well and roll out. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Roll up and cut into 1/4 to 1/2-inch rolls.

    Let set overnight at room temperature.

    Bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes and frost with confectioners sugar frosting.
