- 1 cup sugar
- 6 medium cinnamon sticks, broken into pieces
Directions

1In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil with the sugar and cinnamon sticks.

2Simmer over moderate heat for 3 minutes, stirring to dissolve the sugar.

3Let cool, then cover and let stand for 4 hours.

4Strain the syrup into a jar, cover and refrigerate for up to 1 month.
