Clam Chowder

Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • flour (to thicken saute)
  • 4 c. clam juice
  • 2 clam bouillon cubes
  • 12 oz. chopped clams
  • 2 c. boiled potatoes
  • some salt pork
  • 2 pt. half and half cream

Directions

    Saute the onions and celery in the butter.

    Add the flour to thicken saute.
  3. 3
    Add the clam juice and cook slowly until thickened. Add the bouillon cubes, clams and potatoes.

    Throw in some salt pork.

    Cook all together until flavors are all blended. Remove the salt pork and then add the half and half cream.

    Heat just a few more minutes and serve.
