- 2 doz. clams
- 1 onion
- 3 slices crisp bacon
- 2 potatoes
- 2 c. salted boiling water
- salt and pepper
- butter
- dash of thyme
- parsley
Directions

1Strain clams.

2Save liquid.

3Chop clams.

4Saute onion in 2 tablespoons of bacon fat until brown.

5Simmer potatoes in water until tender.

6Add reserved clam liquid, bacon, onion, salt and pepper to taste; simmer for 5 minutes.

7Add milk; bring to a boil. Add clams and barely heat through.

8Taste and correct seasoning. Add butter and thyme to each serving.

9Cook clams first.

10Add thyme.

11Put parsley on for decoration.
