- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 2 medium onion, diced
- 4 c. potatoes, diced
- 3 c. water or clam juice
- 4 c. milk
- 1 (51 oz.) can chopped clams
- 1/4 lb. butter
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Fry bacon and set aside to drain.

2Pour off bacon fat.

3Add onions to pan and saute until translucent.

4Add potatoes and water or clam juice.

5Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

6Add milk, clams with juice, salt and pepper.

7Simmer for 10 minutes (do not boil).

8Add butter just prior to serving. Garnish with crumbled bacon.
