- 2 (6 1/2 ounce) cans minced clams
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 2 cups potatoes, diced
- 3/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 quart half-and-half
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
Directions

1Put vegetables in saucepan and add water to cover. Drain clam juice into saucepan.

2Cook 20 minutes or until potatoes are done.

3In a large pot melt butter. Add flour,half and half, salt, sugar, and pepper to taste. Cook on medium to medium high heat until thickened and smooth, stirring constantly.

4Add juice/water mixture and vegetables. Remove from heat and add clams. Serve.
