  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans minced clams, undrained
  • 4 medium potatoes, finely diced
  • 2 stalks celery, cut up
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 4 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch

    Cook bacon and drain.

    Add onion and saute.

    In kettle, put clams,

    celery, carrots and seasoning.

    Simmer until tender.

    Dissolve

    a little milk; add to clam mixture until thick.

    remaining milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened again. Do not boil. Add bacon, onion and oleo.
