- 1 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 c. finely chopped celery
- 1 c. finely chopped potatoes
- 3/4 c. flour
- 3/4 c. butter
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
- 4 c. milk
- 2 (7 oz.) cans clams, drained
Directions

1Simmer onion, celery and potatoes in small amount of water in a large saucepan until tender.

2Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat.

3Blend in flour, sugar, salt and pepper.

4Stir in milk gradually.

5Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.

6Stir in vegetable mixture.

7Add clams.

8Cook over low heat until heated through.
