Classic Beef Stew

Ingredients
- 1/2 Swede, cubed
- 2 Large Flat Mushrooms, thickly sliced
- 500g Lean Diced Beef
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
- 2 Carrots, chopped
- Bay Leaf
- 1 Bottle Brown Ale
- 350ml Beef Stock
- 1 saw English Mustard
- Thickening (I use Rice Flour)
Directions

1Heat oil in pan and fry beef until browned, remove and set aside. Fry over the mushrooms and set aside.

2Add onion, garlic, carrots and swede and fry until beginning to soften

3Transfer beef and fried vegetables into a saucepan and add bay leaf, stir in ale and stock and bring to boil

4Cover the stew and simmer for 45 minutes. Stir in mustard and mushrooms and simmer covered for 30 minutes. Thicken and season to taste.
