Ingredients

  • 1/2 Swede, cubed
  • 2 Large Flat Mushrooms, thickly sliced
  • 500g Lean Diced Beef
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
  • 2 Carrots, chopped
  • Bay Leaf
  • 1 Bottle Brown Ale
  • 350ml Beef Stock
  • 1 saw English Mustard
  • Thickening (I use Rice Flour)

Directions

    Heat oil in pan and fry beef until browned, remove and set aside. Fry over the mushrooms and set aside.

    Add onion, garlic, carrots and swede and fry until beginning to soften
  3. 3
    Transfer beef and fried vegetables into a saucepan and add bay leaf, stir in ale and stock and bring to boil

    Cover the stew and simmer for 45 minutes. Stir in mustard and mushrooms and simmer covered for 30 minutes. Thicken and season to taste.
