Classic Chicken Divan

Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli spears
  • 1/4 c. margarine or butter
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 c. chicken broth or bouillon
  • 1/2 c. whipping cream
  • 3 Tbsp. dry white wine
  • 3 chicken breasts, halved and cooked
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper

Directions

    Cook chicken by covering with water and boil until tender when stuck with a fork.

    Cook broccoli according to package directions; drain.

    Melt butter and blend in flour, salt and dash of pepper. Add chicken broth; cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles.

    Stir in cream and wine.

    Place broccoli crosswise in 12 x 7 x 2-inch baking dish.

    Pour half the sauce over it.

    Top with chicken.
