Classic Dinner Rolls

Ingredients

  • 4 to 4 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. warm milk
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/3 c. butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Directions

    In large bowl combine 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, undissolved yeast and salt.

    Gradually add milk, water and butter to dry ingredients.

    Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.

    Add egg and 1/2 cup flour, beat 2 minutes at higher speed, scraping bowl occasionally. With spoon stir in enough flour to make soft dough.

    Cover tightly and let set 2 to 4 hours.

    Punch dough down, turn out on lightly floured board.

    Shape any way you wish and place on pan.

    Cover, let rise to double in bulk, about 40 minutes.

    Bake in 375° oven 15 to 20 minutes or until brown.
