- 4 each pasilla chiles seeded
- 4 each hot chili peppers seeded, diced
- 1 medium onions chopped
- 2 cloves garlic chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes peeled, chopped
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 1/4 cup raisins, seedless
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves ground
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon ground
- 1/4 teaspoon coriander ground
- 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 1 cup chicken broth
Directions

1Combine chiles, onion, garlic, tomatoes, sesame seeds, almonds, tortilla, raisins, cloves, cinnamon, and coriander.

2Puree small amounts of mixture in a blender until smooth.

3Melt shortening in a skillet and saute the puree for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

4Add chicken broth and chocolate and cook over very low heat for 45 minutes.

5The sauce should be very thick.

6Remaining sesame seeds are used for garnish.

7Sauce is excellent with poultry.
