  • 1 pinch coarse sea salt
  • 60 small fresh basil leaves or 30 large fresh basil leaves, rinsed and dried
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 3 tablespoons pine nuts, lightly toasted
  • 2 tablespoons pecorino romano cheese, fresh, finely grated
  • 2 tablespoons parmigiano-reggiano cheese, fresh, finely grated
  • 3 -4 tablespoons virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb gnocchi

Directions

    Cook gnocchi as directed on package.

    In a blender add basil, salt and garlic.

    Blend into a paste, add pine nuts and slowly pour half of the olive oil.

    Add cheese and the remaining olive oil.

    Blend until it becomes a creamy paste.

    Pour over gnocchi and serve.
