- 2-1/2 cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1-1/2 stick Butter
- 1/2 cups Milk
- 1 Egg, Beaten
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°F.

2Mix flour, baking powder and salt with cold butter and milk. In the beginning, dough will look like it won't stick together, but keep mixing a few minutes and it will end up nice and smooth.

3Roll dough out 1/2 inch thick. Use a plain round cutter to cut out scones. Brush with beaten egg. Bake for 15 minutes.

4Serve with cold butter and freshly made jam.
