  • 2-1/2 cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1-1/2 stick Butter
  • 1/2 cups Milk
  • 1 Egg, Beaten

    Preheat oven to 400°F.

    Mix flour, baking powder and salt with cold butter and milk. In the beginning, dough will look like it won't stick together, but keep mixing a few minutes and it will end up nice and smooth.

    Roll dough out 1/2 inch thick. Use a plain round cutter to cut out scones. Brush with beaten egg. Bake for 15 minutes.

    Serve with cold butter and freshly made jam.
