  • 1 c. egg whites (approximately 7 to 8)
  • 7 egg yolks
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 3/4 c. boiling water
  • 1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 3/4 c. sugar

Directions

    Set out 10-inch tube pan; measure and pour into large bowl egg whites.

    Allow to stand at room temperature about 1 hour.

    Set aside egg yolks in small bowl.

    Mix cocoa and boiling water and set aside to cool.
