  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add well-beaten egg yolks.

    Then alternately add milk and flour, which has been sifted with the baking powder.

    Then add stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla extract.

    Bake in two 9-inch layer pans, greased and lined on bottom with waxed paper, in 375° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
