  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sweet milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 egg yolks

Directions

    Mix together sugar, eggs and egg yolks; beat 3 minutes on high speed.

    Add vanilla and 1/2 of the flour; beat 2 minutes.

    Pour in milk and beat another minute.

    Add remaining flour and baking powder and mix 1 or 2 minutes.

    Pour into greased and floured pans. Bake at 350° until firm and springy to the touch.
