- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. flour or 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 3 slightly beaten egg yolks
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. coconut flavoring
- 1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell
- 1 c. flaked coconut
Directions

1In saucepan, combine sugar, flour and salt.

2Gradually stir in milk.

3Cook and stir over medium heat until bubbly.

4Cook and stir 2 minutes.

5Remove from heat.

6Stir small amount hot mixture into yolks; immediately return to hot mixture.

7Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

8Remove from heat.

9Add butter, vanilla and coconut flavoring.

10Pour into cooled baked pastry shell.

11Spread margarine on pie; sprinkle with coconut.

12Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
