- 1 c. margarine or butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour (do not sift)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- shredded coconut
- walnut or pecan pieces
- candied cherries, halved
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Cream butter or margarine, sugar and vanilla, then add flour and salt.

3(Can be refrigerated for easier handling.)

4Shape dough around piece of nut or half a cherry to form 1-inch balls.

5Roll in shredded coconut.

6Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 18 minutes.
