Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 2/3 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. old fashioned or quick oats, uncooked
  • 1 (3 1/2 oz.) can flaked coconut
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c. chopped dates

Directions

    Beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking powder and salt; mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread onto well greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; cut into 2 x 3 inch bars. Makes 25 bars.
