  • 4 cups sifted all-purpose flour (divided)
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup ground almonds (can use other types of nuts)
  • 1/2 cup chopped raisins
  • 2 eggs (slightly beaten)
  • 2 1 lb. coffee cans

Directions

    Mix 2 cups of flour with yeast.

    Stir water, milk, butter, sugar and salt over low heat until butter melts.

    Cool for about 5 minutes.

    Add to the flour and yeast.
