- 2 cups sugar
- 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 3 tablespoons instant coffee
- 2 cups large marshmallows (14-16)
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup coarsley chopped walnuts or 1 cup pecans
Directions

1Generously grease the bottom and sides of an 8 inch square pan.

2In a large heavy saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, coffee, marshmallows and salt.

3Bring mixture to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly.

4Allow to boil until candy reaches soft ball stage, 240 degrees on a candy thermometer - 7 to 10 minutes.

5Remove from heat.

6Add butter and vanilla, beat 2 minutes.

7Fold in nuts.

8Turn into prepared pan.

9Chill until firm, then cut into 36 squares.

10Store in the refrigerator.
