- 1 c. flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. Espresso coffee powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. heavy cream
- 3 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 1/4 c. hot water
- 2 Tbsp. brandy
- whipping cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving)
Directions

1Sift flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons Espresso powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl.

2Mix milk, cream, butter and vanilla.

3Add to dry ingredients.

4Stir until blended well.

5Spread batter in 8-inch cake pan.

6Mix remaining 1/4 cup sugar, brown sugar and remaining 1 teaspoon Espresso coffee powder.

7Sprinkle over batter.

8Mix brandy and hot water.

9Pour over top of cake.

10Bake at 350° for 35 minutes, until cake is set.

11Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
