- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. self-rising cake flour
- 2 sticks butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 6 eggs
- 3 tsp. lemon extract

1Sift flour together 5 times.

2Cream butter and shortening well.

3Add sugar, a little at a time.

4Add flour, a little at a time, alternating with milk.

5Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg.

6Add lemon extract.

7Turn batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

8Put in cold oven.

9Light oven and set at 325°.

10Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
