  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. butternut extract or lemon extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 6 eggs

Directions

    Cream shortenings; gradually add sugar and cream well.

    Beat eggs in one at a time.

    Add flavoring.

    Mix in milk and flour (with salt) at 3 different times.

    Mix well.

    Put in greased and floured tube pan and place in cold oven.

    Bake at 300° 1 hour and 15 minutes.
