Cold Oven Pound Cake

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. flour
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 small can milk (add water to make 1 c.)
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. butter flavoring

Directions

    Cream shortening, sugar and salt.

    Add eggs, one at a time; beat well.

    Add flour and milk, alternately, ending with flour. Fold in flavoring by hand.

    Bake in ungreased tube pan for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325°.

    Start in cold oven.

    (Do not open door while baking.)
