Ingredients
- 1 head cabbage, sliced coarse
- 1 large onion
- 1 green pepper
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 c. vinegar
- 3/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. celery
- 1 tsp. dry mustard seed
Directions

1Alternate cabbage, onion and green pepper in layers in a bowl with tight fitting lid.

2Cover top of ingredients with 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon sugar, salt and vinegar.

3Mix together vegetable oil, celery seed and dry mustard seed.

4Stir and bring to a boil.

5Pour over cabbage immediately.

6Cover with lid and let set, usually about 4 hours or overnight.

7Keeps for weeks in the refrigerator.
