- 1 lb. smoked turkey parts or ham hock
- 1 1/2 qt. water
- 1 hot pepper pod, minced
- 3 clove garlic
- 4 lb. fresh collard greens
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable or olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Place turkey or ham hocks in large saucepan; add water, pepper pod and garlic.

2Cover and bring to a boil.

3Reduce heat to low and simmer 30 minutes.

4Add collards, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook 30 to 40 minutes or until greens are done.

5Makes 8 to 10 servings.
