Ingredients

  • 3 c. liquid milk and water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 7 c. white flour (more if needed)
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 cake yeast

Directions

    Let milk come to boil, then cool before adding yeast.

    Mix as you would for bread.

    After the dough has risen three times, shape into rolls.

    Place on a greased baking sheet.

    Brush well with melted fat; cover and let rise again.

    Then bake in a moderate oven (400° to 450°) for 15 to 20 minutes.
