Company Casserole

Ingredients

  • 4 c. uncooked noodles (1/2 lb.)
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 2 (8 oz. each) cans tomato sauce
  • 1/2 lb. (1 c.) cottage cheese
  • 8 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 tsp. melted margarine
  • 3/4 c. buttered bread crumbs

Directions

    Early in the day, cook noodles and drain.

    Saute ground chuck in margarine until brown; drain.

    Stir in tomato sauce.

    Remove from heat; add cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream and onion. In 2-quart casserole, spread half the noodles and half the cheese mixture.

    Repeat layers.

    Pour over the melted margarine and top with buttered bread crumbs.

    Chill about 1 hour before serving.
