Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 pt. half and half
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 carton whipping cream
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 carton dairy sour cream
  • 1 lb. plus 1 Tbsp. self-rising corn meal
  • 1 1/2 c. diced, cooked ham

    In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter.

    Add flour and half and half.

    Cook until slightly thickened.

    Crumble in cheese; blend and allow mixture to cool.

    Add whipping cream, egg and sour cream, blending well after each addition.

    Add remaining butter (melted). Fold in corn meal.

    Fold in ham.

    Spread into 9 x 13-inch baking pan and bake in 350° oven for 50 to 60 minutes.
