Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/4 c. chopped celery
  • 1 1/2 c. long grain rice
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes (2 1/2 c.)
  • 1 (6 oz.) tomato paste (2/3 c.)
  • 1 tsp. chili pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 bay leaf
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 2 c. hot water
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 c. green pepper, chopped
  • 1 large can beef bouillon

Directions

    Heat oil in large skillet.

    Add garlic, celery and beef; brown, stirring constantly.

    Mix rice, tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, bay leaf and cayenne pepper with hot water.

    Add to garlic and celery; stir well and cover.

    Bring to boil; reduce heat and add beef bouillon.
