  • 1 lb. light brown sugar
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 large pkg. chocolate chips

Directions

    Mix sugar and shortening; add eggs, one at a time.

    Beat well. Add dry ingredients.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes in greased and floured 9 x 12-inch pan.
