- 2 3/4 c. sifted plain flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. butter (1 stick plus a little more)
- 1 box light brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Directions

1Slice butter in thin slices in bowl.

2Add brown sugar and cream well.

3Add eggs, one at a time, and beat.

4Add flour, salt and baking powder; beat.

5Add flavoring and beat.

6Stir in by hand the nuts and chocolate chips.

7Grease large pan or 2 square cake pans.

8Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

9Cool in pan for 5 to 10 minutes.

10Cut into bars.

11Remove to wire rack or a storage container.
