  • 1 box light brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. melted shortening (half butter, half Crisco)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. flour (plain)
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pkg. chocolate bits

Directions

    Cream sugar and shortening. Mix dry ingredients. Add egg, one at a time.

    Add dry ingredients, nuts, vanilla and chocolate bits. Bake in a greased pan at 350° for 15 or 20 minutes. Cut in squares.
