Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 2 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. walnuts
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate bits

Directions

    Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt.

    Melt shortening and add brown sugar.

    Stir.

    Allow to cool.

    Add eggs one at a time; beat well.

    Add dry ingredients, nuts and chocolate bits. Pour into greased 15 x 10-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until done and toothpick comes out clean.

    Cut when cool.
