Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. shortening, melted
  • 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped
  • 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Directions

    In a bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt.

    Set aside.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine melted shortening and sugar.

    Stir until well mixed.

    Let cool slightly.

    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    Add flour mixture and blend.

    Stir in nuts and chocolate morsels.

    Pour into greased 10 x 15-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

    When almost cool, cut into 2-inch squares.
