- 2 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. softened butter or margarine
- 3 extra large eggs
- 2 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. (12 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 1/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans
Directions

1Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish; preheat oven to 350°.

2Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

3Beat butter or margarine together with brown sugar until light and fluffy.

4Add eggs, beating well after each egg.

5Stir in vanilla.

6Beat in reserved flour mixture and when well combined, fold in chocolate bits and nuts.

7Spread batter in prepared dish, smoothing the top. Bake in preheated 350° oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until top looks dry.

8Let cool completely and cut into squares.

9Makes about 4 dozen squares.
