- 1/2 c. cooked beans (red, black or garbanzo)
- 1 c. rice (long grain)
- 1/2 green pepper
- 1/2 onion
- 1 piece of ham, cubed
- 1/2 c. tomato sauce
- salt and pepper
Directions

1If dry beans, soak overnight and cook until soft the next day. Saute ingredients.

2Add beans, tomato sauce, etc.

3Mix well and add water to make 2 or more cups of liquid.

4Bring to a boil; add rice. When rice surfaces, turn off heat.

5Cover until done, 1/2 hour. Depending on your stove, you may need to put it on simmer.

6Mine cooks with the heat only.
