Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 cup Criso shortening
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa, sifted
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

    Mix sugar flour and salt; set aside.

    In saucepan, mix margarine, shortening, cocoa and water.

    Bring to a boil and then pour over dry ingredients.

    Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla.

    Beat until mixture is creamy.

    Pour mixture on cookie sheet (make sure cookie sheet has sides) that has been greased and floured.

    Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
