  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions

    In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually add flour and mix well. Stir in pecans.

    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased

    . Bake at 375° for 9-11 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool for 1-2 minutes before removing to wire racks.
