- 6 chicken breasts
- 6 chicken thighs
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. flour
- salt, pepper and butter
- 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, cut in quarters
- 4 shallots, chopped
- 1/2 clove garlic, crushed
- 20 small whole onions
- 5 slices bacon, diced and cooked crisp
- 1 c. Burgundy wine
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 1/2 c. croutons, sauteed in butter
Directions

1Coat chicken in seasoned flour.

2Brown in butter; remove and place in 3-quart casserole.

3Brown shallots, mushrooms and garlic. Add to casserole.

4Saute onions; cover and cook until tender. Add to casserole the onions, bacon, wine, bay leaf, salt and pepper.

5Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350°.

6Serve with border of croutons.
