  • 1 1/2 c. brown rice
  • 3 1/2 c. water
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
  • 3 Tbsp. butter

Directions

    Place the rice and water in a heavy saucepan.

    Add the salt, pepper, coriander and cardamom.

    Cover and bring to a boil, stirring only once.

    Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Remove from heat.

    Add the butter and mix it in well.

    The rice will stay hot with the lid on for about 10 to 15 minutes.
