- 1 1/2 c. brown rice
- 3 1/2 c. water
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 tsp. ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
- 3 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Place the rice and water in a heavy saucepan.

2Add the salt, pepper, coriander and cardamom.

3Cover and bring to a boil, stirring only once.

4Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Remove from heat.

5Add the butter and mix it in well.

6The rice will stay hot with the lid on for about 10 to 15 minutes.
